Rifle shooting is a sport of accuracy and precision in which both men and women compete on an equal basis. The two types of rifles are used competitively in this discipline: Smallbore (.22 caliber) and Air rifles. Local, regional, national, and international matches held under this discipline involve 4 basic positions (prone, sitting, kneeling, standing) and distances from 50 feet to 100 yards.
